I couldn't agree with you more about the iPhone. In fact, I would go one step further and say that they are pandering to the greatest common factor of fashion followers.  The phone is a giant step backward since you can't run third party apps on it.  Give me the ability to make iChat video calls on the WiFi card, then I'll let you crow about it!
