Today I found my internet connection slowed nearly to a halt as a few people downloaded dozens of files at a time from my music site. What kind of craziness is this? I am NOT your personal Napster. Come on people, show some self control.

In light of these abuses of my resources I have imposed bandwidth and connection limits on the site. If you are one of the lucky few people who have a username and password to the site you will now be limited to 3 connections per person and have your download speed throttled to 100Kb/s tops. In addition to those restrictions, the overall site is being capped at 20 connections with a max transfer speed of 200Kb/s (shared among all users). What this means is if you try to grab more than three songs at a time your subsequent downloads WILL fail. Additionally your download rate WILL suck.

I appologize to the legit users for these limits, as usual a few have ruined for the rest of you. If I get enough complaints I may relax the limits again and see how people handle it. If you are one of the legit users who are ticked off by these limits, drop me an email and I will consider changes.

As a side note to site users I can and do watch my traffic stats and realtime usage. It ticks me off when my whole internet connection gets sapped. Don't screw with me, you will get banned.
